Followed up Friday 12/28/13 13 bass outing.
Think I might be done experimenting with the flurocarbon coiling line and... Lost at least 4 other fish who mysteriously twanged off. Two were really nice. Fights were incredible.
12 SMB (18.5", 17.5", 17", 16", 2-15") 1 Chunky white Goog with sores on it.
Nice fish as always!! I tried fluorocarbon as a leader a few years ago.. Worked great with wacky rig senko type bait and slack water but too brittle. Ended up snapping off a crank on a cast right above the knot, it was a LC wake so it's not the the line was getting beat up That was it for me. I know others love it... just didn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteHey Kev. The knot didn't break, but the lack of stretch let them leverage the noodle rod too much. I do like the fluro for getting the 1/16 jig to the bottom. coils. We're talking about 8# test here.
